More Than an Internship: A Personal Six-Month Experience at Be in touch

I still remember the moment I landed on the Be in touch website. After just a few clicks, I had this feeling: “That’s where I want to be.”At the same time, another thought popped up: “Consulting? Me? I have no idea about that.” So I was all the more surprised that I had the courage to apply anyway.

Looking back now, I’m so glad I did. My internship showed me how big the gap between theory and real-world work can be – and how much can happen in just six months. Right from the start, I was able to contribute, not just observe. I helped develop concepts, supported workshops, organized events, and created content.

And then there were those moments when I suddenly found myself right in the middle of it all – like during a major event with over 100 participants, which I not only co-organized but also co-moderated. In English. Under time pressure. With a real adrenaline rush.Challenging? Yes. But that's exactly why it was so valuable.

Another moment stands out in particular: I was sitting in a workshop, listening – and suddenly the thought hit me: “So this is what moves people.”That ‚aha‘ moment sparked something in me – and showed me how alive theory can become in practice. What particularly impressed me was that I was never ‘the intern,’ but part of the team – with trust, space for ideas and honest feedback. I could feel that appreciation everywhere, often in the smallest gestures. And it helped me grow.

All the better that I now get to stay on as a working student – a sign that my contribution was valued, and a wonderful opportunity to keep learning and growing.Looking back, those six months were so much more than just a required internship. They were a real step out of my comfort zone – and into practice. And all I can say is: It was worth it.

Thank you to the entire Be in touch team – for your trust, openness, and genuine collaboration. For EVERYTHING!

You didn’t just shape my day-to-day experience – you shaped the way I view teamwork.

I’m excited for the next chapter with you!
